For 25-year-old Grenadian pilot Jeremy A. Charles, his latest trip to Grenada was a special one.
The Grand Bacolet native first flew into the Maurice Bishop International Airport (MBIA) as a pilot on March 4, 2026, while en route to Guyana. He returned the following day on his way back to the BVI. Both visits, however, were brief refuelling stops, and Charles never got the opportunity to leave the airport.
That changed when he returned to Grenada on September 24.
For the first time since becoming a pilot, Charles was able to leave the airport, touch Grenadian soil and spend time at home.
Charles left Grenada at age 10 and migrated to Tortola in the British Virgin Islands. Today, he is a Captain with FLYBVI, operating passenger flights throughout the Caribbean.
Charles departed Grenada on Monday, September 28, 2026, bringing to an end a memorable homecoming.
From Grand Bacolet to the cockpit — and back home on Grenadian soil. Congratulations, Captain Jeremy Charles.
