On Monday, May 4, 2026, about 3:00 p.m., officers attached to the Criminal Investigations
Department (CID) of the Vieux Fort Police Station responded to a report in Pomme, Augier, and found the decomposed body of a female hanging from a tree.
The body was subsequently transported to St. Jude Hospital, where the individual was officially pronounced dead. The deceased has since been identified as thirty-four (34)-year-old Talia Norma Hippolyte of Augier, Vieux Fort.
A postmortem examination is scheduled for Friday, May 8, 2026, to determine the cause of
death.
Investigations into this matter are ongoing.
