PR – The Ministry of Finance wishes to inform the public that the Inland Revenue Department (IRD) Office located at the W.E. Julien Building, Young Street, St. George’s will be temporarily closed today, Monday 13th October 2025, effective immediately. This closure is to facilitate a thorough inspection of the premises following two separate activations of the Fire Alarm System earlier this morning.
In accordance with established safety protocols, all staff were promptly evacuated, and emergency personnel were immediately notified on both occasions. An initial inspection conducted by the Fire Department found no source of fire. However, after the second alarm, the leadership of the Inland Revenue Department and the Ministry of Finance made the decision to prioritize the safety and well-being of staff and customers by initiating a comprehensive inspection of the building.
During this temporary closure, customers are encouraged to access IRD services through the following alternative channels:
- Ministry of Finance, Revenue Sub Office, Galleria Mall, Grand Anse 2. Any District Revenue Office, across the islands
- Online portal: https://pay.gov.gd
The Ministry of Finance extends sincere appreciation to the staff of the Inland Revenue Department for their swift and orderly response, to the RGPF Fire and Rescue team for their professionalism, and to the Senior Management Board of the Ministry for their coordination and support throughout the incident.
