PR – The St. Andrew’s Development Organisation (SADO), is pleased to announce the official schedule of activities for the St. Andrew Festival 2026, a vibrant celebration of community, culture, sport, heritage, and togetherness.
The festival will bring together residents, visitors, families, youth, community groups, and
cultural enthusiasts for a dynamic series of events designed to showcase the spirit and identity of St. Andrew.
The 2026 festival was officially launched during an opening ceremony held at Papa D’s in St. Andrew on Monday, June 30, 2026, marking the start of what promises to be exciting events for the community.
“The St. Andrew Festival continues to be an important platform for celebrating who we are as a parish,” said Hon. Delma Thomas, Minister for Mental Wellness and Sports, as she presented opening remarks at the event. Throwing her full support behind the events, she said they create opportunities for people to connect, showcase their talents, and traditions that make the parish unique.
Livingston Nelson, Chief Executive Officer of the Grenada Cultural Foundation, also encouraged residents to participate in the festival’s activities.
“This festival belongs to the people of St. Andrew. We encourage everyone to come out, take part in the events, and celebrate the rich culture, heritage, and community spirit that define the parish.
For the first time, the St. Andrew’s Development Organization (SADO) will partner with the Big Parish Soccer Club to host the Rainbow City Festival Cup as part of the St. Andrew Festival celebrations.
Representative of the Big Parish Soccer Club, Rickey Aberdeen, welcomed the opportunity to collaborate with SADO, describing the partnership as a significant step in promoting community engagement through sport.
“This partnership is about more than football. It is about bringing communities together, creating opportunities for our young people, and adding another exciting dimension to the St. Andrew Festival. We are proud to work alongside SADO to make this tournament a success,” Aberdeen said.
The tournament is scheduled to run from July 8 to 30 at Victoria Park in St. Andrew and is
expected to bring together teams and supporters from across the parish.
