Prime Miister Honourable Dickon Mitchell Expresses Gratitude To Former Prime Minister And MP For St. George Northwest

PR — Prime Minister Honourable Dickon Mitchell has expressed his best wishes to former Prime Minister and Member of Parliament for St. George Northwest, Dr.  The Rt. Honourable Keith Mitchell, in recognition of his longstanding service to the people of  Grenada and the constituents of St. George Northwest.

During a special sitting of Parliament held on October 1, the former Prime Minister reflected on  his decades of public service, including his tenure as a Member of Parliament, which all began in  1984.

Prime Minister Dickon Mitchell commended the former Prime Minister for his contribution to  Grenada’s development and his many years of dedicated public service:

“Regardless of where we may differ politically, we must acknowledge and respect the tremendous  commitment required to dedicate decades of one’s life to public service. Dr. The Rt. Honourable Keith Mitchell has served the people of St. George Northwest and Grenada for many years, and  his contribution to our nation and the wider region is part of our history. On behalf of the  Government and people of Grenada, I thank him for his service and extend best wishes to him.”

Prime Minister Mitchell also noted that the former Prime Minister served for an extended period  as the longest-serving Prime Minister for Grenada. He highlighted that this decades-long service  came with enormous sacrifice, noting that Dr. Mitchell offered himself to serve immediately after  the collapse of the People’s Revolutionary Government and that his impact helped restore  Grenadian parliamentary democracy.

The Leader of Government Business, Honourable Philip Telesford, also expressed gratitude to the  Member of Parliament for St. Mark, Honourable Claris Modeste Curwin, for her service and  contributions to her constituency, women in politics, and the various ministries in which she has  served:

“I also wish to recognise and thank the Member of Parliament for St. Mark for her service to the  people she has represented. Public service requires sacrifice and commitment, and we  acknowledge your contribution with great appreciation.”

Prime Minister Mitchell underscored that the service of all parliamentarians, past and present,  forms an essential part of Grenada’s democratic journey and national development.
