Ministry Of Sports Grenada Collaborates With CARICOM For The Hosting Of The CARICOM Road Races 

PR –  The Division of Sports, in  collaboration with the CARICOM Secretariat, is currently registering athletes for the  17th CARICOM Road Race, scheduled for Saturday, July 6, 2024, in Grenada. 

Registration can be submitted online at or by contacting the Ministry of  Youth and Sports. Road runners are encouraged to register to participate in the events. 

Kerlon Peters, Coordinator of Sports, said the race is expected to be of the highest  standard. 

The first race will commence at 8:00 a.m. from Camerhogne Park in Grand Anse, up  to Tanteen, and back to Camerhogne Park. 

The categories of races are as follows: 

  • Elite 10K: This race is by invitation only and will have two (2) professional  athletes (one male and one female) representing each CARICOM country. Open 10K: for athletes aged 16 and over, and 
  • Youth 1.7K: athletes under 15 (route will be within the Morne Rouge area) Prizes for the respective races are as follows: 

Elite 10K 

  1. 10K, US$1,000.00, 1st Place 
  2. US$800.00, 2nd Place 
  3. US$500.00, 3rd Place 

Open 10K 

  1. EC$500.00, 1st Place 
  2. EC$200.00, 2nd Place 
  3. EC$ 300.00, 3rd Place

Youth (U16): 1.7K will be awarded. 

  • Gold Medal, 1st Place 
  • Silver Medal, 2nd Place 
  • Bronze Medal, 3rd Place 

All participants will be given medals to acknowledge their participation in the races. 

Grenada’s representatives in the Elite 10K are Kennisha Pascal (female) and Livron  Thorne (male). 

Transportation will be available to and from the race venue, with departure at 6:00 a.m.  from the west and east. 

A local organising committee is organising the logistics for the event.
