Ministry Of Climate Resilience, Te Environment And Renewable Energy To Host-Capacity Development Training On Energy Efficiency Appliances And Standards Established For Refrigeration And Air Conditioning Sector

PR – The National Ozone Unit (NOU) in the Ministry of Climate Resilience, the Environment, and  Renewable Energy, will host a Capacity Development Training for Refrigeration and Air Conditioning (RAC)  retailors, procurement officers for electrical appliances, and facility energy managers, under the Cool  Contributions Fighting Climate Change Project, Phase II (C4 II). 

The training, which is part of the Ministry’s commitment to ozone and climate protection, will take place at  the VIP Lounge Kirani James Athletic Stadium, St. George’s. Grenada, on Wednesday, March 27, 2024,  from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m

It will provide valuable insight into understanding the energy performance of refrigerators, air conditioners,  and other small electrical appliances, as well as the properties and benefits of natural refrigerants, while also  offering a comprehensive overview of standards established for the refrigeration and Air conditioning (RAC)  sector. 

Participants will gain the ability to calculate energy efficiency, energy cost, energy consumption, and savings  from the afore-mentioned electrical appliances. They will also recognise the importance of Ozone Layer  protection and the advantages of Green Cooling. 

Additionally,participants will be better equipped to advise potential end users on energy efficiency  and cost issues, as well as explain the concept of green cooling and evaluate and explain the energy labels on  appliances.
