Minister Andrews Satisfied With The Implementation Rate Of Projects

PR – Satisfied that several road development projects and other infrastructure projects have been implemented during his first nineteen (19) months in office is Minister for Carriacou and Petite Martinique Affairs and Local Government Hon. Tevin Andrews.

Minister Andrews, visiting the recommencement of work on the Belair Hospital Road, where over 2000ft of concrete pavement, drains and sidewalk are being done, said he is happy to see this road development project, which leads to the lone hospital on the island. The widening of the road, he noted, will make it not only easier for emergency use but also for all those who utilize it.

Two of the positives of the projects done in 2023, Minister Andrews said, were the creation of jobs and utilizing a number of young contractors.

In the first quarter of 2024, he said, work is expected to commence on the Ministerial Complex and the construction of a new facility for the hosting of cultural events on the island. This would require the demolition of the present Hillsborough Community Centre.

Development not only will be focused on road improvement, but citizens can expect the completion and installation of the first underwater park in Carriacou and a number of significant tourism projects.

Minister Andrews thanks the people of Carriacou and Petite Martinique for their continued support as they work together for the positive development of the islands.
