PR – The Grenada Football Association (GFA) welcomes the FIFA President, Gianni Infantino’s decision to withdraw the proposed FIFA Forward Enterprise initiative and commends him for taking such swift action. The GFA views this action as evidence of the commitment of President Infantino in giving priority to maintaining strong unity among Member Associations and Confederations.
Furthermore, the GFA remains firmly committed to the principles of good governance, due process, and transparency. These are fundamental and non-negotiable principles that are essential to maintaining public trust, accountability, fairness, and confidence in institutional decision-making.
Additionally, the GFA will not support or recognize any action by any Member Association or Confederation that threatens to circumvent or undermine the established institutional processes within FIFA. The GFA further welcomes and fully embraces the call by President Infantino to FIFA members to collectively continue developing football for the benefit of FIFA’s 211 Member Associations.
For its part, the GFA recognizes and deeply appreciates the unprecedented financial and technical support provided by FIFA under President Gianni Infantino’s leadership, for football development in Grenada over the past decade, particularly in the advancement of grassroots, girls and women’s football.
As part of President Infantino’s vision, the increased focus on enabling smaller Member Associations to participate meaningfully in international football competitions is already yielding tangible results. Over the last few years, our National Teams have travelled far and wide, as never before, to participate in several competitions and friendlies. The remarkable progress of Cape Verde, as demonstrated by its recent World Cup participation, is a compelling example of what can be achieved through greater opportunities and support for smaller footballing nations.
The GFA therefore reaffirms its support for FIFA President Gianni Infantino and expresses its sincere appreciation for his continued support for football development in Grenada and across the Caribbean over his period of service in office and for the years to come.
