CXC Probing ‘Issue’ Regarding Distribution Of Examination Paper

CMC – The Barbados-based Caribbean Examinations Council (CXC) says it has commenced “investigations” into the circumstances surrounding an issue which occurred with the distribution of the Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate (CSEC) Principles of Accounts Paper 02 at specific centres.

“CXC understands that any uncertainty around examinations can cause anxiety and we wish to assure candidates and parents that these matters are treated with the highest urgency. Once we have completed our investigations, the appropriate action will be taken,” CXC said in a brief statement without giving any further details.

Last week, CXC issued a statement denying reports on social media that “an examination paper” was leaked.

In its statement, CXC said it “has been made aware of information being circulated on social media which suggests that an examination paper has been leaked.

“CXC wishes to advise candidates that this is a hoax. CXC frowns upon attempts by persons to spread false information and create panic for candidates preparing for examinations.”

In May last year, CXC identified Jamaica as the country where its Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate (CSEC) Math Paper 02 examination paper had been leaked.
