Another Playing Field Being Upgraded In Carriacou

PR – Minister for Carriacou and Petite Martinique Affairs and Local Government, Hon. Tevin Andrews, who also is Member of Parliament for the twin-isle parish, continues to take a keen interest in the development of sports within the communities on the islands.

He was present to witness the dumping of backfill on the Mt. Pleasant Playing Field by employees of the Division of Sports within the Ministry of Carriacou and Petite Martinique Affairs and Local Government. The backfill is part of work being done on upgrading the playing ground.

The upgrading of playing fields, said Minister Andrews, will help in the positive development of sports on Carriacou. He commended the team from the Ministry involved in the work led by Grounds Supervisor Curtis Williams.

This is the second playing field on the island to be upgraded since Minister Andrews assumed office. The first was the Dover Playing Field, where a new cricket turf wicket was constructed.
