PR – Hon. Tevin Andrews, Minister for Carriacou and Petite Martinique Affairs and Local Government, has reaffirmed his commitment to the growth of agriculture on the islands.
“Agriculture is the backbone of our islands, and we are determined to empower our local farmers,’’ Minister Andrews said at a recent ceremony with farmers.
In a significant move, his Ministry has extended its support to ten deserving farmers. The farmers were provided with essential resources to further develop their agricultural plots.
As part of this initiative, the Carriacou Farmers Association also has received a grant of EC$10,000 to support the promoting and advancing of farming practices on the island.
“Our collaboration with the Division of Agriculture, within the Ministry of Carriacou and Petite Martinique Affairs and Local Government, is just the beginning. We have much more assistance lined up to uplift agriculture in the region,’’ Minister Andrews said.
