PR – Minister for Carriacou and Petite Martinique Affairs and Local Government, Hon Tevin Andrews, has described teachers as the backbone of the education system. They are critical to the development of the nation, the Minister said while on a tour of schools.
He visited three (3) schools on the island on the commencement of the new school term.
Minister Andrews said kudos must be given to teachers, whose role as educators is often taken for granted.
To students, he offered some words of advice. He encouraged them to remain focused as they learn and to be respectful, noting that they are the leaders of tomorrow.
Meanwhile, to assist parents and students with back-to-school necessities, Minister Andrews recently distributed over 200 school bags and other supplies to children and their families.
