Grenada’s Newest Pharmacy/Supermarket ‘PharmaCon’ Opens Its Doors

PR – On Sunday 27th August, Grenada’s newest supermarket and pharmacy, PharmaCon Ltd., officially opened its doors to the public with a formal launch, blessing and ribbon-cutting ceremony.

PharmaCon is a result of a collaborative effort by two businessmen and a young professional. By pooling their resources together, they were able to form the company. The original idea behind PhamaCon was to open a Pharmacy and Convenience store, hence the name Pharma–Con, short for pharmacy and convenience. The word Pharmacon also means drug, tying back to the pharmacy aspect of the business. However, based on feedback from the community, which the company values, the request was to provide a full-fledged supermarket and pharmacy. As a result, the directors of PharmaCon listened and opened a full supermarket and pharmacy. The supermarket is fully operational today, opening daily from 7 A.M. to 10 P.M. The pharmacy/dispensary will be available in the upcoming months.

Edwin Francis, one of the Directors and owners of PharmaCon stated in his remarks “Our tagline: Fresh, Complete, Convenient speaks to what we offer at Pharmacon. Fresh produce and a complete one-stop shop for everything including, but not limited to;

  • Grocery items
  • Household items
  • Small electronic parts
  • Small automotive parts
  • Small plumbing parts and
  • Full pharmacy.

Convenience speaks to our operating hours and ideal location. We are open daily from 7 am to 10 pm and is located on the Calivigny main road.

As we step into the realm of healthcare and retail, we are committed to offering you an exceptional experience that goes beyond mere convenience. Our pharmacy will be staffed with highly skilled professionals who will prioritize your health and well-being above all else. Through these collaborations, we aim to empower and support our community, positively impacting the lives of those around us.”

Attending in the capacity of Acting Prime Minister was Hon. Phillip Telesford, Minister for Social Community Development, Housing and Gender Affairs and Parliamentary Representative for the Constituency. Hon. Philip Telesford congratulated the Directors on taking the bold step of investing in Grenada. He indicated when you invest in your country, you are making a statement to the public, that you are interested in the wellbeing of national development.

“Small businesses like these are extremely important for the development of Grenada. I want to encourage you and encourage others to get involved in small business, to dream big, think big and do not ever stop at the obstacles that confront you.
