PR – The National Disaster Management Agency (NaDMA) will conduct an orientation for its newly elected District Coordinators and Deputy District Coordinators. The three hour session is scheduled for Monday, May 15th, 2023, from 2:00 p.m., at the NaDMA conference room, Morne Jaloux, St. George’s.
During the period February to April 2023, NaDMA conducted elections in all seventeen districts in Grenada, Carriacou and Petite Martinique. The newly elected District Coordinators and Deputy District Coordinators will be engaged in an interactive session that will provide a detailed overview of their roles and responsibilities at the district, and an outline of the organizational structure of NaDMA and its functions. The orientation will also include a practical component on emergency communications.
The objective of the orientation is to provide the leaders of the District Committees with the tools necessary for them to deliver effective leadership and to ensure that district teams are prepared to respond to hazards. NaDMA recognizes that a robust district structure is a critical element in the Disaster Management process, as the district committees form an important link to the national structure.
