Grenlec’s Acting General Manager to Provide Further Update on Electricity
Service After Recent Fire at Carriacou Power Plant.
At 7:14PM on the evening of 15 May 2023, there was a brief Islandwide electricity outage in Carriacou.
The outage resulted from a trip of one of the two generators presently providing service to the island.
Note that service was restored to all customers by 7:46 PM.
Grenlec apologises to customers for the inconvenience this evening and the persistent
challenges that have resulted from the recent fire at its Beausejour Power Plant.
As the Company works to urgently resolve the situation in Carriacou, Grenlec’s Acting General
Manager, Clive Hosten invites customers to join him for an update via two radio programmes on Tuesday, 16 May.
