GFA Conference League Playoffs Begin On Wednesday 12th April  

PR – The Grenada Football Association (GFA) 2021 Conference League  playoffs is carded to begin Wednesday 12th April after Happy Hill FC booked its spot in the final  Central Conference league match held a few days ago. 

Happy Hill FC beat Combined Northerners 2-1 in their match at Beausejour. Happy Hill was first  on the scoreboard with a successful penalty kick from Joshua Sandy in the 38th minute but the  equalizer came 6 minutes later via the boot of Combined Northerners’ Shakel Jones. It was an  extra time (90+5) stunner from Happy Hill’s Shane Charles that secured the win, pushing them  to second in the league on 28 points behind Fontenoy United on 34 points. Happy Hill and  Fontenoy United join the top two teams of the NorthWestern (Shamrock SC and Sunsetters FC),  Southern (RGPF and GBSS) and Eastern Conferences (St.David’s FC and SAFL) in the playoffs for  promotion to the Premier League. 

The GFA expresses it gratitude to all the Conference Clubs for their patience during the several  delays in the completion of the league. The GFA is committed to the highest standards of  integrity of the game and ensuring that all clubs are allowed to pursue due process for matters  arising out of matches. 

The playoffs will begin with the following matches on Wednesday 12th April: Happy Hill FC vs Sunsetters FC, Kirani James Athletics Stadium – 5:00pm 

GBSS vs SAFL, Kirani James Athletics Stadium – 7:00pm 

St.David’s FC vs RGPF, Victoria Park – 6:00pm 

Thursday 13th April: 

Shamrock SC vs Fontenoy United, Fond – 6:00pm 

The top two finishers in the playoffs will be promoted to the GFA Premier League.
