PR – Kites flew high above the light, sporadic chatter, as squeals of children in the field at Chantimelle permeated the air, signaling the end of the school term at the Holy Spirit RC School.
Teachers, parents and team members from Sandals Grenada joined in on the festivities busily serving up delectable lunches, and sweet treats, and also engaging children in fun activities.
Master kite maker and watersports attendant, Kadeem McDonald provided additional kites for the children, “I love art and creativity and making things with my God-given hands. Using my skills to do something special for the children was easy and they really like the colors I used so I am pleased.”
Equally honored to be on board was snow cone vendor Dwain ‘Fish’ Lewis, “When Sandals called me to do this I immediately changed my plans for the day. Anyone who knows me knows I love children.”
A plethora of books and school supplies were distributed to the students adding to their stack of items to keep them occupied during the Easter break and to also prepare for the next school term. Dedicated volunteer, Vernester Jacobs, of Sandals’ food & beverage department, shared, “I always look forward to our community outreach activities. This is part of the Sandals culture and spirit and it just reminds us to consider and take care of others. It was truly a pleasure to serve the teachers and children today, their smiles are the greatest reward.”
In expressing her gratitude to the volunteers, school principal Kerry Sabazan stated, “We were delighted to have the team with us today. Thank you to Sandals for their generosity to our school and we hope to welcome them again in the future.”
