PR – Government through the Public Works Division within the Ministry of Carriacou and Petite Martinique Affairs and Local Government continues to pump millions into constructing and developing the road network in Carriacou and Petite Martinique.
Engineering Assistant in the Public Works Division on the island, Clinton Hamilton says major infrastructural works are on the cards for the town of Hillsborough, commencing March 1st.
The project include the widening of roads, corners, and covering of drains, all geared toward easing and maneuvering traffic congestion and providing safer roads for pedestrians.
The project will be sub-contracted to four local contractors; Isaac Stafford, Theophilus Bedeau, George Roberts and Shedrack Stafford.
Some of the areas in Hillsborough that will be immediately affected by the project include Patterson Street, Brango Bridge and Morris Street.
Motorists and pedestrians alike are asked to exercise caution when driving and walking through the town during the duration of the works as Government continues to work on enhancing the road network in the twin-isle parish.
