4.1 Magnitude Earthquake Felt In Grenada

PR – Seismologists at the University of the West Indies Seismic Research Centre (UWI  SRC) confirmed the 4.1 magnitude earthquake which occurred at 12:41 local time. 

According to the seismological computational system, the earthquake was located  11.915 latitude and longitude 62.043 with a depth of 86.7km. 

Its epicenter was located 35 km south west of St. George’s Grenada, 151 km  northwest of Port of Spain, Trinidad and 165 km North West of Arima, Trinidad  and Tobago.  

NaDMA received several reports of the event, felt by people throughout the island. 

Following preliminary assessment, there were no reports of damage as a result of the  earthquake. 

NaDMA uses this opportunity to remind the public of the need to always be  prepared for these early onset hazards that can occur at any time and can cause  harm to many.
