Former Bajan National Player Becomes Country’s 36th Murder Victim For The Year

(CMC) – A former national youth footballer was among two people shot and killed in Barbados over the weekend, police have confirmed.

Kobe Shepherd, 26, was shot on Sunday, becoming the 36th murder for the year so far.

According to law enforcers, Shepherd was outside his home when the incident occurred. He was reportedly shot multiple times by a pillion rider on a motorcycle.

Shepherd was taken for medical treatment at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital by a private vehicle but was pronounced dead on arrival.

Shepherd represented Barbados at the youth level and recently played for the University of the West Indies Blackbirds in the earlier rounds of the Republic Cup.
