PR – The National Water and Sewerage Authority (NAWASA), apologises to consumers in Cafe, Golf Course and surrounding communities in the parish of St. George, who have been challenged by an extended interruption in their water supply.
While the Annandale Water System was reopened last evening, supply to these consumers was not restored, due to a damaged water main, in the Springs/Cafe junction.
Restoration was anticipated by 11:00p.m., last night, however due to the nature of the work and challenges resulting from continuous rainfall, the team was forced to suspend the repairs at 2:00 a.m., Thursday April 7th, 2022.
Work on repairs, will recommence at 9:30a.m. this morning and restoration is anticipated by 4:00p.m. today Thursday April 7th, 2022.
Please also be advised that although the network will be reopened at 4:00 p.m., consumers in elevated areas may receive a supply within two hours thereafter.
Motorists are also advised that as a result, there may be lengthy delays in the flow of traffice along the Springs main road. You are thorefore encouraged to use alternative routes to get to your various destinations.
The Authority apologizes for any inconveniences likely to be caused as a result and thanks consumers and the motoring public for their patience as we work towards the delivery of a safe, adequate and reliable water supply.
