(LOOP NEWS CARIBBEAN) – An Antiguan woman was taken into police custody after a video of her child smoking what appeared to be a spliff, surfaced on social media.
The girl, who officials say is just five years old, could be seen coughing after smoking the spliff.
A woman who police say recorded the video could be heard laughing.
Police officials said in a statement that they are now fully aware of the incident and an investigation has since been launched.
The Ministry of Social Transformation has also been engaged in the probe.
The child has been removed from the home and is now in the care of the state.
Her mother, who was present and could be heard laughing in the widely circulated video, was taken in by police and is now assisting with investigations.
