PR – The Ministry of Health has engaged a team to manage all aspects of the State’s contact tracing operations for COVID-19. The team leads all case investigations related to the COVID-19, and will identify, monitor, and support individuals who might have been exposed to a person with COVID-19.
Their primary mandate is to:
+ identify people who have the virus
+ trace those who have been in close contact with an infected person and + is at risk of being infected themselves
+ support and monitor the contacts to self-isolate or quarantine, so that if they have the virus, they are less likely to transmit it to others.
The team’s initial period of engagement is six months, as Grenada, like most of its Caribbean neighbours, navigates its way through border reopening, which commenced on October 1st, 2020
