US National Hurricane Centre Eyes Tropical Wave

(LOOP NEWS CARIBBEAN) – A tropical wave over the eastern Atlantic Ocean is showing some signs of development, according to the US National Hurricane Centre (NHC) forecast.

The wave is located about 750 miles (1,207 kilometres) east of the Windward Islands.

NHC said slow development of this system is possible during the next day or so while it moves generally westward near 15 mph (24 km/h). Strong upper-level winds are expected to limit further development by midweek.

The wave has a low (30 percent) chance of formation into a tropical cyclone during the next 48 hours and five days.
