(LOOP NEWS CARIBBEAN) – The Bahamas Ministry of Health recorded 160 new cases of COVID-19 over the weekend bringing the total number confirmed cases to 2546.
The breakdown of new cases by island is as follows:
- New Providence 125
- Long Island 5
- Exuma 3
- Andros 1
- Grand Bahama 14
- Abaco 6
- Inagua 2
- Eleuthera 1
The location of three confirmed cases are still being investigated.
The Health Ministry also confirmed that eight virus-related deaths were recorded over the weekend bringing the total to 56.
There are 1489 active cases of COVID-19 in the territory with 75 people being treated at the hospital.
Citizens are being urged to adhere to all measures that have been put in place to slow the spread of COVID-19.
