System Challenges Due To The Effects Of The Heavy Rains

PR – The National Water and Sewerage Authority (NAWASA) advises consumers served by the following water systems that due to dam blockage resulting from continuous rain, their water supply has been interrupted.

A timeline for restoration cannot be determined at this time:

  • Mirabeau Water System serves: Sabb, Byelands, Mirabeau, Mt. Horne, Grenville, Rose Mont, St. Cloud’s, Balthazar, Grand Bras, Forde, Telescope, St. Mary’s, River Lett, Soubise, Cook Hill, The Villa, Mt. Sealy, Paraclete, Santoo Pee Street, Columba & the entire town of Grenville.
  • Horne Water System serves: Parts of Mt. Horne, Paradise, Dunfermline, Grace Bakery, Pearls, Canal Road, La Fillette and Seamoon.
  • Munich Water System serves: Munich, Tuilleries Mt. Carmel, and Marquis
  • Reuil Water System serves: Parts of Snell Hall, Parts of Madey’s, La Fortune, Levera, Town of Sauteurs including High Street, Mt. Craven, Parts of Mt. Rodney

PLEASE BE ADVISED THAT OTHER SYSTEMS MAY BE ADDED TO THE LIST WITHOUT PRIOR NOTICE.

Heavy rainfall makes our systems highly susceptible to dam blockages, which hinders the production of water for adequate distribution to our consumers.

Consumers with a supply are encouraged to collect and store water in clean, covered containers to last a minimum of three days.

Consumers without a supply are reminded of the need to manage their stored supply taking into consideration the immediate needs of their families and pets.

The Authority will continue to update the nation as to restoration timelines once we are able to ascertain this.

The Authority apologizes for any inconveniences caused and thanks consumers for their patience as we work towards the delivery of a safe, adequate and reliable water supply.
