Jamaica: Five-Year-Old Dies After Vehicle Mows Down Four In Montego Bay

(LOOP JAMAICA) – A five-year-old girl who was among four persons who were mowed down by an out-of-control motor vehicle along a roadway in Montego Bay, St James on Wednesday afternoon, has died from the injuries she sustained.

The deceased has been identified as Shanika McDonald of a Flanker, St James address.

Reports are that about 1.30 pm, a grey sports utility vehicle was being driven along Queen’s Drive in Montego Bay in the parish when the driver lost control of the vehicle, which ran into a group of persons who were working along the roadside.

McDonald and three adults sustained injuries and were taken to the Cornwall Regional Hospital, where the child was pronounced dead.

The St James police are investigating the incident.
