The Grenada Trades Union Council (GTUC), wishes to advise the general public of the postponement of its Rhum Runner 1 cruise, carded for tonight, Friday March 13, 2020.
As a responsible organisation, the GTUC had to make this decision in light of the threat of the Corona Virus to the State of Grenada based on a pronouncement made by Minister for Health Hon. Nickolas Steele, at a Stakeholder meeting yesterday, that it is highly likely it was only a matter of time before Grenada records its first case, based on regional patterns.
On Wednesday March 11, the World Health Organisation (WHO) declared COVID–19 to be a pandemic, pushing the threat beyond the global emergency it had announced in January.
All ticket holders are advised to retain their tickets, as they will remain valid for a new date to be determined.
