Trinidad: Pregnant Teen Found Dead A pregnant 15-year-old girl was found dead in her bedroom by her younger sister on Monday at her home in San Juan.

According to a police report, at about 1 pm the teenager, a pupil of the San Juan North Secondary School complained to a close male relative that she was experiencing excruciating stomach pains and vomiting.

Police said the girl was then given a cup of “saffron tea” and antibiotics. However, about 15 minutes after she was found dead by her 13-year-old sister.

A team of police officers from the San Juan Police Station and Homicide Bureau went to the house where they found the cup of tea, a home pregnancy kit which contained two used tests, both indicating positive results and several tablets including ‘Amoxil 500 mg’, unnamed red and yellow ones and unnamed round orange pills.

An autopsy has been ordered to determine the cause of death.
