Trinidad: 10-Year-Old Shot In Parked Car A TEN-YEAR-OLD girl was shot while sitting in a car parked near the corner of Duncan Street and Independence Square in Port of Spain yesterday afternoon.

She is the fourth child to have been shot and injured since last week.

It is the policy of the Express not to identify children who are victims of crime.

Police said around 4 p.m. the girl was sitting in a car parked in front of two Housing Development Corporation apartment blocks when a gunman approached the vehicle from behind.

Police believe the shooter came from Duncan Street and when he saw the car (facing east) he immediately drew a 9 mm pistol and fired a total of eight shots at the car. The driver started the car and sped off while the gunman ran east into John John. The injured girl was taken to the Port of Spain General Hospital by the driver.
