Trinidadexpress.com – A Trinidad and Tobago Regiment soldier was arrested on Carnival Monday night in San Juan while allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol in a stolen car.
Police said the 24-year-old soldier, who lives in East Dry River, Port of Spain, was stopped by North Eastern Division Task Force officers at 9.45 p.m. along the Eastern Main Road, San Juan, as he was seen driving in an erratic manner.
While interviewing the man, they noticed a trace of alcohol on his breath.
Police also checked the number plate of the car he was driving and they concluded the car had been stolen.
The soldier was taken to the San Juan Police Station where he was administered a breathalyzer test which showed he was above the legal limit.
