Drunk Soldier Driving Stolen Car Arrested

Trinidadexpress.com – A Trinidad and Tobago Regiment soldier was arrested on Carni­val Monday night in San Juan while alle­gedly dri­ving under the influence of alcohol in a stolen car.

Police said the 24-year-old soldier, who lives in East Dry River, Port of Spain, was stopped by North Eastern Division Task Force offi­cers at 9.45 p.m. along the Eastern Main Road, San Juan, as he was seen driving in an erratic manner.

While interviewing the man, they noticed a trace of alcohol on his breath.

Police also checked the number plate of the car he was driving and they concluded the car had been stolen.

The soldier was ta­ken to the San Juan Police Station where he was administered a breathalyzer test which showed he was above the legal limit.
