Sunday, 21st October – The National Water and Sewerage Authority (NAWASA) apologies to all our consumers who are challenged with the interruption in their water supply due to dam blockages and turbidity as a result of the continuous rains.
Our dams are in the river and movement of boulders and other debris that created a blockage coupled with heavy river flow makes it impossible for our employees to have systems cleared to facilitate distribution to our consumers.
Over the past 48 hours our largest water system Annandale has felt the full force of Mother Nature and remains down because of system damage. Annandale serves Annandale, Constantine, New Hampshire through to River Road and the entire south of the island.
A timeline for restoration cannot be determined at this time for Annandale and all affected systems.
PLEASE BE ADVISED THAT OTHER SYSTEMS MAY BE ADDED TO THE LIST PLEASE IF THE WEATHER SITUATION PERSISTS OR WORSENS.
The Authority will continue to update the nation as to the restoration timeline once we are able to ascertain this.
NAWASA… Committed to meeting customers’ needs
