Grenada and other Windward Islands are bracing themselves for some severe weather conditions on Thursday as Tropical Storm Kirk is forecasted to pass through the Island chain.
At 5Am, Tropical Storm Kirk was located 11.8 North, 52.7 West or 470 miles East of Barbados, moving west at 18 miles per hour.
Currently Barbados and St. Lucia are under Tropical Storm warning and St. Vincent and the Grenadines a Tropical Storm watch.
According to Tropical storm Kirk’s Forecast track the center is expected to pass through St. Lucia tomorrow afternoon.
Although Grenada is not expected to be directly impacted forecasters at the Maurice Bishop International Airport are watching closely the rain bands associated with the system which can bring heavy thundershowers resulting in flooding and landslides. A marine advisory will also be issued for operators.
