Grenada Files First Case With The Caribbean Court Of Justice

ST. GEORGE’S, GRENADA – 25th September, 2018 – Grenada made history today when it filed its first case with the CCJ in its original jurisdiction. The court deals with matters relating to the revised treaty of chaguaramas which deals with the Caribbean single market and economy. This case has to do with the free movement within CARICOM.

Back in October of 2016 while being in Barbados to renew their visas, The Gilbert family told a horrifying story of being wrongfully accused of stealing a mobile phone belonging to a store owner, which led to three members of the group being strip searched and ridiculed by Barbadian police.
