Two Infants Burn To Death In Early Morning Fire

Two children, Jamal Frederick (3 Years) and Javonté Frederick (2 Months), died in an early morning fire, which completely destroyed their home, Sunday, at Fontenoy, St. George. Their mother, 25 year old, Alisha Lewis, an unemployed resident of the same address, was not home at the time of the incident.  Her five year old son escaped unharmed.

A relative who lived close by said he was awaken by the fire and immediately went to assist other villagers in putting out the blaze, but their efforts were futile.

Woman Police Constable, Paulin Sandy, was present at the scene and confirmed the deaths.

This makes it five persons to have died in house fires for the year so far, three children under the age of four and two adults. On Monday, March 26th, a mid-morning fire claimed the lives of three family members; 81-year-old Modestina Charles and her two grandchildren, 22-year-old Wade Charles and 3-year-old Jamal Charles died amid the blaze, which completely destroyed a 20×18 feet wooden-structured house at Upper St. John (St. Andrew).
