Infrastructural Upgrades Continues At Princess Alice – Temporary Relocation Of Departments/Wards

ST GEORGE’S, GRENADA, MARCH 1 2018 GOVERNMENT INFORMATION SERVICE (GIS): – The Ministry of Health hereby informs the General Public that starting today Thursday, March 1st 2018 there would be temporary relocation of departments/wards at the Princess Alice Hospital, at Mirabeau, St. Andrew.

The relocation process would result in the moving of the Maternity Ward to the Pediatric Ward that is (adjacent to the casualty department), and the Pediatric Ward to the private section near to the Male Ward. The relocation is to facilitate ongoing infrastructural upgrades currently taking place at the facility.

According to the Hospital’s administration the current upgrading of the facility is intended to enhance services delivery and ensure it can function effectively especially in times of disasters. The “Smart Hospital” initiative is an international concept funded by the Government of Grenada, the United Kingdom Department for International Development and executed by the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO).

The Hospital managers are advising all persons visiting the maternity ward to do so via the entrance leading to the Accident and Emergency department, ONLY.

Meanwhile in light of the above, the MOH takes this opportunity to thank the public for its cooperation and understanding as it endeavors to upgrade and improve health services delivery at the hospital.

The (MOH) also encourages all patients, visitors and staff alike to exercise extreme caution when visiting the facility while the redevelopment works continue. The Ministry sincerely apologizes for the inconveniences that are likely to be caused.
